Fall Events in West Michigan

Autumn is such a great season here in West Michigan. You can visit a multitude of festivals, take a fall color tour to view the spectacular oranges, reds and yellows that take over the landscape, and just enjoy the cool, crisp air. Halloween is not just for kids- our local communities sponsor various parties and events that are fun for the entire family.

Local Corn Mazes & Pumpkin Patches

Orchard Market

  • October 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, & 25th; 2025 from 7:30-11:30pm – Camp Sauble Cages of Carnage Haunted Prison – 4058 E. Free Soil Rd. in Free Soil. Entry fee benefits local fire departments. Handicapped accessible and with 2 trails to follow. Not recommended for small children. Proceeds benefit the Free Soil/Meade, Fountain, & Grant Township Fire Departments.
  • October 17th, 18th, 24th, & 25th from 7-10pm and 31st from 6-9pm – Harvey’s Haunted Garage at 320 S. Madison Ave., Custer. Free Family friendly faunted maze. Donations welcome.
  • Saturday, October 18th, 2025 from 8:30-10:30pm – MCE Class of 2027 presents Wailing Woods Haunted Trail at the Mason County Eastern School Pavilion on the playground- 18 Custer Rd., Custer. $5 entry fee benefits the class of ’27.
  • Friday, October 24th, 2025 at 5pm – Annual Harvest Festival at The Inn at Ludington – 701 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington. Games, Prizes, Costumes, Candy, Food, Punch and so much more! The event will include a pie eating contest, bounce house (weather permitting), and a Ka-Pong Tournament at 7:30pm. There will also be games, prizes, costumes, candy, food, punch, and more.   • Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 9am – Run for Your Lives 5k & Half Marathon  – Downtown Ludington.

Manistee County

  • Chili Cook-Off at Ruby Creek Conservation & Recreation Club – 8152 E. Washington Rd., Branch. Enter a pot or sample and vote. Dessert will also be available. Suggested donation is $5 per person. For more info, call Janet at (231) 233-4637.
  • Stix Biergarten Fall Fest– 1963 N. Lakeshore Dr., Ludington – Admission is $10 for adults and free for kids. Activities include Bounce House, Face Painting, Cookie Decorating, Haunted Trail, Trunk or Treat, Pumpkin Painting, Hot Cocoa Bar, Chili Cook Off, and a live DJ Costume Party from 7pm-12am.
  • Spooky Slow Roll Bike Ride beginning at Spindrift Cyclesports – 102 W. Ludington Ave. Costumes are encouraged and snacks and prizes will be provided.
  • Spooktacular for Teens at the Scottville Library- 204 E. State St., Scottville. Kids age 12-18 are invited to participate in a costume party, jack-o’-lantern carving, caramel apple charcuterie, and more.
  • Annual tractor treat, games, and Halloween orbi stress ball making at The Roadside/Kistlercrest Farms- 4105 S. Pere Marquette Hwy. Ludington. Costumes encouraged.
  • Teen Murder Mystery Party at the Ludington Library- 217 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington. Teens are invited for a costume party, snacks, andy and a murder mystery game.
  • Spooky Story Night at The Pier- 222 W. Ludington Ave., Ludington. Bring a scary poem or story to share. Non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Audience is PG13. Dress in costume or spooky colors.
  • Halloween Spooktacular at Photography by Sue Brown – 1676 W. Hansen Road, Scottville. Free photo with donation to United Way of Mason County. Sign up by clicking here.
  • Dia De Los Muertos/Halloween Party at the Ludington Eagles Club- 108 S. Harrison St., Ludington. Tacos, enchiladas, rice, beans, and tamales will be served from 5-7pm and there will be live music featuring Chago from 8pm-12am. Members and guests are welcome for dinner and live music is open to the public. The event also includes a costume contest.

Manistee County

  • Bear Lake Fall Festival – includes music, pumpkin painting, car show, kids games, “BearCrows”, and more. For more information, visit facebook.com.

  • Guided Haunted Walk through the Orchard State Park Beach Walking Trail – 2064 Lakeshore Rd., Manistee. 6:30-7:30pm is most appropriate for younger children, while 7:30-9:30pm will include more frights. Admission is by donation and will benefit the development of a food & clothing pantry at Manistee Elementary School Refreshments will also be for sale.
  • Halloween Costume Party Skate at West Shore Ice Arena- 3000 N. Stiles Rd., Scottville. Event includes treats, bake sale, and party-light skating. Costumes encouraged with prizes awarded. Fundraiser for the West Shore Amateur Skate Association. $10 admission and $3 skate rental.

Oceana County

  • Spooktober at Up North Farm Market- 3960 W. Monroe Rd., Hart. The event includes pumpkin painting, Halloween games, and trick or treat stations. Cost is $5 per child. Adults attending with a child get in free.
  • Movie Night & Boo-Gie Bash with screening of Hocus Pocus. The event also includes spooky museum tours for all ages (children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult), DJ Dance Party, and Costume Contest. For more information, visit takemetohart.org.
  • Haunted Hallways at Walkerville Public Schools- 145 Lathrop St., Walkerville. Presented by Walkerville Student Council. Admission for ages 5-12 yearsis $5, $10 for those 13 years and older. Snacks included.
  • Free Homemade Donuts & Cider at the Pentwater Fire Department – 486 E. Park St., Pentwater.
