The Oceana County Fair is held annually at the Oceana County Fairgrounds in Hart. The event features fun and exciting events at the end of summer. Area youth show off the animals they raised in the livestock barns. The Exhibition Halls house the creative exhibits produced by all ages. Thrilling fun can be found on the midway and at the exciting events at the grandstand.

The Oceana County Fairgrounds is located just two miles off the US-31 expressway (exit 134), at 1025 State Street in Hart. Parking is free and regular fair hours are 9am-11pm daily. Midway and Rides are by Elliot Amusements. Special armband prices allow attendees to ride from midway opening to close each day. Commercial Buildings are open from Noon-10pm daily.

Here’s the Typical Schedule for the Event:

Wednesday-Friday

  • 4-10pm – *Midway open

*Special – Ride from 3-10pm with $20 armband and $5 per carload entry fee. Individual ride tickets will be available for purchase.

Saturday

  • 1-10pm – *Midway open
  • 7pm – Micro Wrestling in the Grandstands, entry fee applies
  • Dusk – Fireworks

*Special – Ride from -1-10pm with $25 armband. Individual ride tickets will be available for purchase.

Monday

  • 6:30pm – Harness Horse Races in the Grandstand, free admission
  • 6:30pm – 4-H Youth Work Bee in Barns

*No Midway Sunday, August 21st or Monday, August 22nd, 2023

Tuesday

  • 8am – Swine Showmanship, Breeding, & 4-H Market Classes
  • 9am – Youth & Educational Building Judging
  • 3pm – All Entered Exhibits in Youth & Educational Building
  • 4pm – Sheep Showmanship, Breeding, and 4-H Market Classes
  • 5-11pm – *Midway open
  • 5:30pm – Harness Horse Racing at the Grandstand, free admission

*Special – Ride from 5-11pm with $15 armband. Individual ride tickets will be available for purchase.

Wednesday

*Senior Citizen Day – Over age 55 admitted FREE until 2pm

  • 8:30am – Beef Showmanship, Breed, & 4-H Classes in Large Arena
  • 9am – Poultry Showmanship in the Rabbit & Poultry Barn
  • 12pm (After Beef Judging) – Draft Horse Halter/Ponies, Mules, & Cross Classes in Large Arena
  • 2-11pm – *Midway open
  • 2pm – Saddle Horse Showmanship & Halter Classes in Large Arena
  • 4pm – Sheep Showmanship, Breed, & 4-H Classes in Small Indoor Arena
  • 5:30pm – Mini Horse Driving Classes in Large Arena
  • 7pm – Open Mic at the Grandstands

*Special – Ride from 2-11pm with $20 armband. Individual ride tickets will be available for purchase.

Thursday

*Special – 11:30-1pm – accommodations for those with disabilities will be provided, including free gate and free rides

  • 9am – Dairy Cattle Judging- Youth & Open in the Large Arena
  • 9am – Goat Youth & Open Showmanship, Breed, & 4-H Market Classes and Hog/Lamb/Goat Barn in the Small Indoor Arena
  • 10am – Rabbit Youth & Open Showmanship, Breed, & 4-H Market Classes in the Rabbit & Poultry Barn
  • 11:30am-1pm – Accommodations will be made for those with disabilities including free gate and free rides
  • 12-11pm – *Midway open to the public
  • 6:45pm – Presentation of Oceana 4-H Ambassadors in the Grandstands, free admission
  • 7pm – 4-H Market Livestock Auction at the Grandstand, free admission

*Special – Ride from 2-11pm with $20 armband. Individual ride tickets will be available for purchase.

Friday

  • 1pm – Draft Riding & Log Pulling Classes in the Large Arena
  • 1-11pm – *Midway open
  • 2pm – Heavyweight Horse Pulling in the Grandstands, free admission
  • 4pm – Cow Trail & Costume Classes in Large Arena
  • 5:30pm – Grandstand Opens – Ticket Sales Begin
  • 7pm – West Michigan Pullers Tractor Pull in the Grandstands, Adults- $10.00, 12 & under- $5.00 (6500# Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, 6200# Modified Gas Trucks, 9300# Super Farm Tractors, 8000# Hot Diesel Trucks, 8200# Street Diesel Trucks, 8200# Pro Street Diesel Trucks, 12000# Field Farm Tractors)

*Special – Ride from 1-11pm with $25 armband. Individual ride tickets will be available for purchase.

Saturday

  • 10am – Grand Slam Showmanship beginning in the Rabbit & Poultry Barn and onto Large Arena
  • 10am – Horse Games in Infield Arena
  • 10am – Garden Tractor Pull in the Grandstands sponsored by the Western Michigan Old Engine Club, free admission (Transfer Sled Only, Stock Tractors Only,
    11 Classes ranging from 750# to 1150#)
  • 1-11pm – *Midway open
  • 1pm – Ag Olympics in Large Arena (all kids 19 years old and under are invited to participate in games, fun, & prizes)
  • 4pm – Bump ‘n Run Off Road Derby, followed by the Demolition Derby at 7pm in the Grandstands (Adults- $20, 12 & Under- $10, for both events, tickets go on sale at 2pm). For more info, visit tntdemoderby.com
