Annual Blessing of the Sleds

Home Gardening on a Shoestring Workshop
This workshop, hosted by AFFEW (A Few Friends for the Environment of the World) will teach participants about pollinator and rain gardens, successfully growing inexpensive and easy plants, making seedballs, and more. Cost is $5 for members of the Lakeshore Food Club and $10 for non-members. Purchase tickets at affew.org. The workshop will be held at the Lakeshore Food Club- 920 E. Tinkham Ave., Ludington.
Great Start Collaborative Winter Book Walk
Families are invited to walk, snowshoe, or ski the lantern lit path at the Ludington State Park. The first 100 families will receive a signed copy of the book “I Wish to Be a Christmas Tree” by Colleen Monroe. There will be a bonfire and free warm beverages at the amphitheater.

Michigan Adventure Race Winter Edition
This race is up to three hours in length and includes teams racing together to find checkpoints, Amazing Race-style challenges, beginner to intermediate orienteering with a topographic map and compass, and snowshoeing. For more information or to register, visit miadventurerace.com.

Elvis Birthday Extravaganza
“Occasionally Elvis” Bill Burnette will perform his impersonation show on Friday from 5-7pm, Saturday from 12-2pm AND 5-7:30pm, and on Sunday from 1-3pm. There will be Elvis specials and free ice cream with any meal. House of Flavors Restaurant- 402 W. Ludington Ave., Ludington.
Free Cross Country Skiing
The Oceana Cross Country Ski Association will host a free cross country skiing event in Crystal Valley. The event includes use of OCCSA’s adult and children’s ski equipment. Equipment use will be first come, first serve and the event will be contingent upon weather and appropriate ski conditions. Visit oceanaski.org for more information.
Lantern Lit Snowshoe Walk
Free walk with bonfire and warm beverages provided. Walks are approximately 1 mile and begin and end at the Ludington State Park Warming Shelter- 8800 M-116, Ludington.

Vietnam Peace Accord Event
All Vietnam Veterans who served in country during the Vietnam War are invited to this event to honor the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam Peace Accord. Those with books on Vietnam or non-weapon memorabilia from their service time are encouraged to bring them. American Legion Post 76- 318 N. James St., Ludington.
Monster Pike Ice Fishing Tournament
Sponsored by PM Expeditions. There will be a 100% payout for the longest pike. This tournament is only for pike- no other fish will be included. Participants must be in line for measuring at Suttons Landing by 5pm. Call (231) 845-7285 for more information.
